From the time I was young, I was fascinated with the power of words. At first it was just the way I manipulated them into rhymes; later it was their capacity for connecting people and ideas, shared experiences that shattered boundaries. As a teacher of English and composition, I had the good fortune to immerse myself in words crafted by masters. As a writer, I recognize that the craft requires the same as all jobs done well, a willingness to work hard. Add to that the relinquishment of ego necessary to make way for inspiration, and therein lies the potential for forming words into thoughts, both real and imagined, that awaken the reader, the simple goal of every writer. These many years later, my enthusiasm for both reading and writing has never waned.
